Our Services
Hearing Tests
Audio-metric hearing tests have been available for many years, and provide a proven method of calculating both the type and degree of hearing loss suffered.
Wearing ear phones and playing pure-tone beeps at different volumes and at different frequencies, an audiologist can assess your level of hearing.
A further bone-conduction test using a vibrating pad on the bone behind your ear can then assess the type of hearing loss you might suffer (sensori-neural or conductive).
Tinnitus Treatments
Medical experts are still unsure as to the reasons why people suffer from tinnitus.
There are lots of theories and a great deal of misinformation. The common definition of tinnitus is simply ’noises in the head' for which there is no external source.
It is important therefore that you seek qualified advice. It is certainly a distressing experience but there are a number of possible ways of alleviating the symptoms.
These can be discussed and trialed free of charge.
Ear Wax Removal
A non-evasive method to remove unwanted earwax from the ear canal without putting any pressure, or causing any damage to the ear drum or ear canal.
A low flow miniature suction pipe, inserted into the ear canal, which gently removes the earwax by suction. A much safer method than previously used, which was to put vibrating water into the ear canal.
Our Products
Over the last 35 years, enormous improvements have been made to hearing aid technology.
The incorporation of a computer-chip has meant a large increase in the accuracy and effectiveness of the sound amplification that hearing aids can provide to hearing loss they are trying to correct.
The miniaturisation of the chip has meant a better visual appearance (smaller, lighter and more comfortable). Lastly, the ability of the hearing aid by Bluetooth technology to link into computers, laptops, TVs and smartphones brought them into the 21st Century.
Hearing aids are now unrecognisable to those worn in the 1990’s in appearance, sound quality and effectiveness.
